Unfolding Divinity

George_Leonard.jpg

“While remaining transcendent to all created things, the divine spirit involved itself in the birth of the material universe. The process that followed, the uneven but inexorable emergence of ever higher organization from matter to life to humankind, is then – at the heart of it – the unfolding of hidden divinity.”

George Leonard (American Aikidoist, President Emeritus of the Esalen Institute and Writer, 1923-2010) and Michael Murphy (American Cofounder of the Esalen Institute and Author, 1930-)

Timeless Awareness

Aldous Huxley.jpeg

“The ground in which the multifarious and time-bound psyche is rooted is a simple, timeless awareness. By making ourselves pure in heart and poor in spirit we can discover and be identified with this awareness. In the spirit we not only have, but are, the unitive knowledge of the divine Ground.”

Following Your Path

“Man improves himself as he follows his path; if he stands still, waiting to improve before he makes a decision, he’ll never move.”

–Paulo Coelho (Brazilian Writer, 1947-)

Limitless Energy

Robert Bly.jpg

This short statement is absolutely true, and forms the basis of my “Turbocharge Your Energy” programs. Though I do give you quite a lot of explanation about the origins of all this energy! It is surprising but true that virtually anyone can access a startling source and supply of energy at will.

“It is astonishing how much energy the body is capable of pouring out and then replenishing. This is a magical act, because you never really understand where all the energy comes from.”

–Robert Bly (American Poet, 1926-)

Do You Get Frustrated?

Stuart_wilde_keep_aspect_215x215.jpg

“Frustration stems from the nasty habit of allowing the ego to decide the timing and delivery of its desires. If you blindfold the ego with discipline and never show it the menu of life, it doesn’t bitch about the food – it’s thrilled that you are eating to keep alive.”

–Stuart Wilde (English-born Author, Lecturer and Humorist 1946-)

Holons

Ken_Wilber 3.jpg

As a young student I was very taken with Arthur Koestler’s concept of “Holons:” processes or things that are both individual and part of a greater whole.

Here Ken Wilber talks about them in more detail:

“A holon is a whole that is part of other wholes. For example, a whole atom is part of a whole molecule, a whole molecule is part of a whole cell, a whole cell is part of a whole organism, and so on…. The universe is fundamentally composed of holons, wholes that are parts of other wholes.”

–Ken Wilber (American Philosopher, 1949-)

Even the Smallest Acts…

Gaining Strength, Courage and Confidence

Eleanor_roosevelt_portrait2.png

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

–Eleanor Roosevelt (American Diplomat, First Lady and Humanitarian, 1884-1962)

You Learn by Living

Kindling Inspiration

Brenda_Ueland.jpg

“I learned… that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic striving, but it comes into us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness.”

–Brenda Ueland (American Feminist and Author, 1891-1985)

Spiritual Insights

Rudolf Steiner 3.jpg

“The cognitive insights of a person who has [spiritual] vision can provide healthy food for all. All of us can apply these insights to our lives; and if we do so, we shall soon realize the possibilities of life in every area.”

–Rudolf Steiner (Croatian-born Austrian Mystic, Occultist, Social Philosopher, Architect and Founder of Anthroposophy, 1861-1925)
