“In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it’s the exact opposite.”
–Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac (English Mathematician and Physicist, Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University from 1932-1969, and, in 1933, Winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, 1902-1984)

“These are the visionary, mystical moments, when a man ‘completes his partial mind’. His everyday conscious self is only a small part of the mind, like the final crescent of the moon. In moments of crisis, the full moon suddenly appears.”
–Colin Wilson (English Novelist and Writer on Philosophy, Sociology and the Occult, 1931-)

“Poetry and Mysticism” (Colin Wilson)

One of the fruits of recognizing and unleashing your Innate Freedom is an ever increasing awareness of the subtle rhythms that underlie your life. If you can sense and synchronize with them, your life begins to change in wonderful ways.
Here is a beautiful expression of what I am talking about:
“At the heart of each of us, whatever our imperfections, there exists a silent pulse of perfect rhythm, a complex of wave forms and resonances, which is absolutely individual and unique, and yet connects us to everything in the universe. The act of getting in touch with this pulse can transform our personal experience and in some way alter the world around us.”
–George Leonard (American Aikidoist and Writer, 1923-2010)
The piece comes from a wonderful book that I recommend most highly.

“The Silent Pulse: A Search for the Perfect Rhythm that Exists in Each of Us” (George Leonard)

“And it is not our part here to take thought only for a season, or for a few lives of Men, or for a passing age of the world. We should seek a final end of this menace, even if we do not hope to make one.”
–Gandalf in “The Fellowship of the Ring”

“The universal brotherhood of man is our most precious possession, what there is of it.”
–Mark Twain (a.k.a. Samuel Langhorne Clemens, American Humorist, Writer and Lecturer, 1835-1910)

“Following the Equator: A Journey Around the World” (Mark Twain)

“Of a truth, men are mystically united: a mystic bond of brotherhood makes all men one.”
–Thomas Carlyle (Scottish Historian and Essayist, 1795-1881)

“On Heroes, Hero-Worship, and The Heroic in History” (Thomas Carlyle)

“Experienced spiritual researchers know what strength they gain by always looking for the good in everything and withholding their critical judgment.
This practice should not remain simply an outer rule of life, but must take hold of the innermost part of the soul.”
–Rudolf Steiner (Croatian-born Austrian Mystic, Occultist, Social Philosopher, Architect and Founder of Anthroposophy, 1861-1925)

“How to Know Higher Worlds” (Rudolf Steiner)

“Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”
–Douglas Adams (English Writer, 1952-2001)

“Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of; a blessing that money cannot buy.”
–Izaak Walton (English Biographer and Author of The Compleat Angler {1653}, one of the most frequently reprinted books in English literature, 1593-1683)
I love the quote, but I had to wonder how he felt about the health of all the fishes that he yanked out of their homes….

“It is easy to forget that man has taken a look at his home from the outside only in the last twenty years and the profound and almost mystical effect upon the astronauts has been embraced by the species as a whole. We can see our planet as an exquisite, luminous, living globe hanging undivided in the silence of space. The testimonies from space bring home with a fresh impact just what a rare and precious opportunity of life we share within the planet as one whole ecosystem and us as a part of it.”
–Yatri (a.k.a. Malcolm Godwin, English Artist, Spiritual Seeker and Writer, 1936-)

“Unknown Man: The Mysterious Birth of a New Species” (Yatri)
